Fairy dust
This morning, as I was clearing breakfast, I heard E utter "uh oh" and then the frantic patter of her bare footsteps from the family room to my side. Her mouth was glittering and she was clutching a tiny and empty bottle of fairy dust ( a Christmas present from Granny E). She took my hand and led me to the chair where she had ever so sweetly emptied the contents into her precious star jar. "Did the fairies come?" I asked. "Yeah, tairee." She replied.
The dust managed to find it's sparkly way everywhere bringing other magic moments to our day:
E attempting to put her legs into the arms of a jumper. Desperate to dress herself.
Our playdate, especially E swapping books with J and sitting on my knee reading as he sat with Holly. (E has yet to share toys, mostly taking them from under his nose.) E helping and providing commentary on J's nappy change including "akky"! (Yakky). The two minis in the Silver Cross pram together, looking suspicious. And, best of all E deciding to crawl ( as J cannot yet walk) and wanting him to follow - very early stage interaction. I can't wait to watch her make friends and play together.
E's pure joy and excitement watching videos of Henny over and over again.
"Tuck em in" - repeated clearly after I urged E to tuck her little hands inside the pushchair sleeping bag for warmth.
E's constant singing and chatting to "baby neily" the whole way around the park, skipping the usual nap, even resisting the cobbles!
Leaving Daddy a "lell ooh" (love you) voicemail as he is away today.
