Today was the lunchtime launch of A Play, A Pie & A Pint in Edinburgh. My office is very close to the Traverse theatre and we culd see the press shoot with the city mayor and a guy playing bagpipes out of the window. By the look of him, after one jar of ale the mayor would probably be a bit worse for wear.
The event organisers had spared no expense to create an aisle of pies leading up to the door of the theatre - causing much confusion with the office worker types and theatre go-ers alike. But it at least provided some light relief and I enjoyed passing through the pie corridor (no - not a euphamism) on my way to the sandwich shop and giggled childishly to myself on the way back as it seems the organisers had also underestimated the bravery of the local sky-rats who were helping themselves to the pies ;-)
Thinking about it, the headline for the event isn't quite right. It was actually closer to:
A play, a pie, a pint, a press shoot with professional photographers, a probably pissed provost, a piper and a pigeon pecked pie lined procession along the pavement.
Indeed. Try saying that after a couple of IPAs.
I took a number of shots of these pies, but I like the Depth of Filling in this one. Sorry.
