Mud!

I wonder if this will ever again be a grassy track, thick with clover, eye bright, yellow rattle, vetches and buttercups? Will the meadow brown and common blue butterflies come back? It all seems so unlikely when it looks like this!

The local farmer and fencing contractor have been using it to access the fields and the mud is now so deep that in places Lottie is up to her tummy in it! A walk to avoid in this weather!
