Brodgar

The snow finally arrived and I headed out to Stenness on the bus. Quite a blizzard as we bowled along bit it cleared as I debussed at Skail road end and walked up to the stone circle at Stenness and then onto the larger circle at Brodgar. Not as much snow on the ground as I'd expected but it perhaps made more of a pattern with the land. See more here.

Not that many land birds about. Plenty of goldeneye, mallard, tufted duck, mute swans etc. on the lochs. Two bar-tailed godwits flew overhead and there were seven ravens at the Stones of Stenness- but I couldn't get a shot.
