Just some birds on the beach
A friend phoned and asked if I would go for a walk with her on the beach. I had only been there yesterday so it was a real hardship to force myself to go again! The birds in the photo are of course extremely rare ones - sadly you can't make them out as they have come out a bit small and in silhouette against the strong and unusual sunlight (the second day of sun after what seems like weeks of grey rainy weather).
The village near the beach has always had a small free car park, but it is no longer free and they have an appallingly slow car park ticket machine, which only takes payment by card. If I had 'extras' I would include a photo of a properly printed out notice attached to the machine - but no extras for a non paying member like me so I'll quote it in full instead. (It's a much needed notice because the machine is so slow it feels as though it's broken and will never work).
"THIS PAYMENT MACHINE WORKS
ON CORNISH TIME
AND MAY TAKE A FEW MOMENTS
TO CONNECT TO YOUR BANK.
PLEASE BE PATIENT
YOUR TICKET WILL BE PRINTED
DRECKLY"
Dreckly (adapted from 'directly') is a Cornish word meaning possibly not ever! There's even a joke about Black Friday in Cornwall being moved to the following Tuesday because of Dreckly.
