Snowy start....
A drop of snow around this morning and a touch of frost. Dropped off the car at the garage to get brake discs and pads done. Coming back home in the Landrover we spotted a car in the hedge that had hit ice on a bend and done a 180 . The young lassie was on route to the nursery with her kid so we got a chain on the front and Kev hauled it out while I drove the car. Nobody hurt, only damage to the car was the front number plate had come off, and we had done our good deed for the day.
Back home to discover my Case tractor that I feed the cattle with wasn’t well. There is water leaking into the engine oil which now looks like grey sludge. It’s either a head gasket or a cylinder liner seal , and will not be cheap or quick to fix. Have now had to put the feeder on the wee New Holland tractor as it is the only other one that fits up the feed passages.
Nipped down to the village soup lunch . Turns out it was Shirley’s birthday so she had a cake at the lunch.
Had to come home early as a lad sitting waiting for me to load him with straw bales.
Once he was away, made a start at building some more pens in the lambing shed. Got fed up about 9 pm , and Mrs F wanted me to re seal round the shower tray any way. By the time I had that done it was gone midnight so I think that will do for today !
