Waiting for the summer

The week in the Lakes ended as it started. Heavy rain when we arrived, heavy rain when we left. In between some very interesting weather and rather better than we expected.

Today’s blip is of the marina at Bowness. I jumped out of the car to see what I could find. And it was almost as Mono as this blip.

We travel to Ambleside before leaving, after a new jacket. We both bought Paramos, which were light and left us feeling much lighter. Then it was on to Lunesdale Bakery for a late lunch (Croque Madame us both and a soup for me as well. That was on top of a final scone at Apple Pie. Susan had a Bath Bun on Knottman2’s recommendation. Very good it was too.

We left Kirkby at 4.30pm arriving home at 10.30 - and a pleasantly good journey it was despite the rain, spray and drivers who take no notice of the Cindy. spray
