Let me introduce you to Windborne

Today, in Humshaugh Village Hall, the remarkable and very talented quartet, Windborne, led a workshop for local singers. I was privileged to be there.

The group of folk singers specialise in close harmony singing. See more about them here. They collect songs from harmony traditions all over the world, with a particular interest in protest songs.

This morning we learned two songs in four part harmony. Neither was easy, but they made it seem so. The hall was nearly full of singers, but there was room for a very few extras to make the audience for their afternoon concert.

We were spellbound.

Today was their last concert on their UK tour and they will be heading home to the USA soon.
