Bathroom finished!

Not an exciting photo but it represents a huge sigh of relief . Been busy trying to economically smarten up a quite dated house for sale, and there's finally light at the end of this very long tunnel. This room was left til last as it had a few problems to deal with. I couldn't get a ready- made screen to replace the badly cracked one (it sits on the edge of the bath) and I didn't want to pay out for a custom-made job. My daughter scanned the Net for second-hand ones but all had been the wrong size and/or they were located too far to travel for. In the meantime I painted ceiling, wood trims, door and in whites. I decided to add a cafe latte colour to the walls( and hated it after the first coat, but it darkened and improved with the second coat), laboriously scraped the scale -caused by bore-water - off the tiles with a paint-scraper, which took many hours. Then picked off the silicone sealant with a stanley knife, which was amazingly hard to shift. Replaced that with fresh silicone and found it wasn't as easy as it looked to control the flow in the "gun". Bit wobbly.? Then scoured the faded floor tiles with any liquid & cleaner I could find. And then, oh joy, a screen was found -at no cost and close by!- through the Gumtree website. Installing that required a bit of male ingenuity...so worried we would break the glass in the process....but now it is done. Whew!
