Golden Opportunity

Every new beginning brings hope in a day that has never been lived before. New dreams, new promise, new faith, new mercy...
No matter how we can start to sag by noon, there is always the possibility of a golden sunset and another new day, punctuated with a golden sunrise, right beyond that.

Life never stays the same. Over and over, I have heard it said that nothing has changed for years in the town in which I live. While, at the same time, we are hard pressed to find even 5 businesses that were the same 30 years ago.

The old building where I had many classes at this high sch00l was demolished shortly after I returned to Coos Bay. New buildings have been built...new stadium. New games are played on the field, new players...each one has a life that is unique and all their own. No matter what looks familiar on the surface, nothing is exactly as it was, nor is it as it shall be.

We press on in the new day, with anticipation and expectation, and if we are disappointed by the end of it...
...tomorrow, the sun will rise again, on a brand new golden day, that has never been lived before. A day that is full of hope, and faith, and promise and mercy....
