The Judgment of Paris (after Rubens)

This piece of photographic art by Eleanor Antin from 2007 was in the British Museum Troy exhibition. It shows Paris choosing between the 3 goddesses Athene, Aphrodite and Hera, depicted in 20th century stereotypes of what they represent - war, love and marriage. Helen sits at the side looking understandably disgusted at the proceedings.

I suppose according to the mythology Paris's choice of Aphrodite  led to his absconding with Helen and starting the Trojan War.

Great fun, probably the thing I liked most in the exhibition.
