Rocking to sleep

So today Turkey shut its borders and stopped all flights to and from Iraq. It feels weird to feel slightly stuck. There are other ways out by air still but today the coronavirus has been confirmed in Kurdistan and more in Baghdad and there's total chaos in Iran.

This afternoon we visited yezidi friends in their camp. It was such a good way to beat the blues. I love that family. A mass grave of 23 of their relatives killed by ISIS has just been found and two teenage girls just returned after 6 years in captivity. It puts things in perspective. And they're still so warm and kind and welcoming of us.
