Unexpected

You may have heard the applause and laughter...W. won the chili cook off! After years of entering, and even being awarded a “lifetime achievement” prize a couple years ago (a giant spoon, for his good natured persistence), he won! His chili - that’s his entry, #2 - had intensified in flavor overnight. I tweaked it a bit this morning, and it really was quite tasty. Even D. had to agree.

Hours later I’m still full of chili samples and have no motivation to fix dinner. I walked the hill with W. and took I. to a friend’s birthday party, where she’s no doubt being stuffed with Indian food. A well-fed and relaxing day.
