Rusting Away
I took a short trip down to the Thames at Gravesend, near the Town Pier, the world's oldest iron cast pier. The tide was still out allowing me to walk onto a small beach where I found some artfacts remaining from the time this area was a busy waterside community, with vessels of all shapes and sizes waiting to load cargoes, or passengers and emigrants heading for Australia, New Zealand and the Americas.
This old chain may be a little more modern, but is now gently rusting away, making a suitable subject for Marlieske's Derelict Sunday Challenge
