First Day Back

First day back in Aberdeenshire and it feels quite cool. The car park at Crathes Castle seemed to be quite full, but I am not sure where all the people are. In the cafe and sheltering from the rain probably.

We were not expecting rain, but we persevered and had a walk around, mainly within the walled garden. We met one of the gardening staff in the greenhouse and had a chat why her about the garden. She said the plants within the walled garden tend to be a little ahead of what we might expect to see in the garden at home. They were planning for Easter to try to ensure the plants would be at their best to coincide with the Easter weekend.

A bowl of soup was welcome and very nice before returning home.

The back view of the castle is the approach to the main entrance to the house. Not the most photogenic point of view of the castle, but all I had today!
