Estuary

Aberystwyth is less than ten miles away as the crow flies, we can see it from Tywyn seafront.  It's 31 miles by road thanks to the Dyfi estuary, the nearest crossing point being the bridge at Machynlleth and even that is regularly closed due to flooding.  Today the peril of being cut off was due to road works between Mach and Aber, the night closure meaning a 70 mile diversion if we failed to get through in time after Jamie's sports session.  Today we made it but basketball on Thursday will be a mix of road, rail and some help from our friends at the club!
