Catkins
The first day of meteorological spring and a second day of sunshine - perhaps this bodes well for an end to the grey skies that have dogged this winter.
I had a rather soggy walk round Swaddywell Pit - no sign of the water levels dropping yet, but there were certainly plenty of signs of spring - cherry-plum and blackthorn both in bloom and the first sallow catkins emerging, backlit by the late-afternoon sun.
A small celebration for me today as I finally finished entering all the data for the BSBI 2020 Atlas - now it's on to verification...
