What a difference a day makes!

After I posted yesterday’s blip, Mia suddenly became very unwell, disorientated, eyes glazed and limp. We took her to the emergency vet who thoroughly examined her and did blood tests, before deciding to keep her in overnight to observe, rehydrate her, and do further tests. It was quite an ordeal for us all. We were told the prognosis most probably wasn’t good and we were asked to sign a DNR in case her heart stopped.
We got home around 1 a.m. I got about three and a half hours sleep, expecting the phone to ring. But no news was good news.
We finally got her home this afternoon, fully hydrated and with much better blood results. She is back to her usual self. She’ll be monitored over the next few days and more bloods done next week, but for now I have my lovely Mia back. What a relief!
