It did the job

For the sake of three and a half quids worth of CMOS battery the battered old laptop is working again.
 
Some of the keys not working, it keeps complaining that the ‘Automatic Updates are turned off’, the battery gave up the ghost years ago and it’s only got 2Mb of ram, but it shows photos, videos and Power Point presentations so it’s great to lend to friends for such occasions when I can’t make it with our new laptop.
 
It's Windows XP, but Norton is happy to run on it and keep things secure, and it’s not allowed on the web except to update Norton, so what the heck.
