Fancy-schmancy

Quick turnaround, today we decided to go to Granada and visit the other half of the Parque de las Ciencias. We spent most of the time in the exhibition about the human body, which left both of us feeling a bit queasy. Our bodies are so complicated, full of squishy blood-filled organs that can go wrong. Did you know you have 100,000 km of blood vessels in your body? No, we didn't believe it either. S googled it when we got home, then said, "This is ridiculous, why would I trust Google over an actual science museum?"

We had lunch at the Puerta del Carmen, as recommended by S and T. It's very smart, as you can see, in a lovely historic building. The food was really nice, but outrageously expensive for the quantity. We were particularly shocked by our main course, a shared plate of grilled vegetables and goat's cheese. The ingredients must have cost about 1 euro, but that didn't stop them charging us 15. The carpaccio of beef with parmesan ice cream was superb though. Maybe the "free" tapas are better value; I wouldn't go there for a sit-down meal again.

Home and then half an hour later I was off to choir practice. There were enough of us to have a go at the eight-part Besame Mucho; the sopranos and tenors got totally carried away with bellowing out the melody and carried on even after Eusebio had given up conducting because the other four syncopated parts had got totally out of sync(opation). His cries of, "It's meant to sound romantic!" fell on deaf ears, but the second time around the tenors' syrupy rendition earned applause from the rest of us,.
