On the bus
My older sister TML laments the modern lack of headgear on older people! When she emigrated from the UK in 1985, older women still wore hats, she says. Not any more, Tanya! Not as many grey heads, either. I'm planning to go grey gracefully.
I'm happy to say I enjoyed the new film version of Emma, particularly the folk songs that were played whenever we saw 'the common people' going about their business. I must search for the soundtrack. Dave and I watched it together, then went for lunch at Chiquito's, a Mexican place nearby.
Went to Wilko's for toothpaste and the last packet of paracetamol. There was almost no hand sanitiser left on the shelves. After travelling back to Stroud by bus, friend J and I went to Waitrose for shopping and coffee. The loo roll shelves were empty, and all the cheap eggs were gone. On the other hand, staff gifted us with free toffee waffles and piccalilli pork pies. Not Christmas, but coronavirus crisis behaviour, it seems.
A HUGELY successful day it's been for catching up and socialising. Wednesday is my equivalent of Saturday, since I work on Saturdays.
