Under New Management

Our local railway service provider was effectively sacked by the government at the end of February so this week the trains  have been run directly by the government.  There is little immediate impact as we have the same trains, timetable and staff but we are told that within 100 days we will have a new masterplan for the way forward.  I personally have not experienced any problems with the old Northern Rail but I am aware that there have been major issues with the trans-pennine and Manchester local services.  I hope they get it sorted out as railways are definitely a better way to travel than by road provided they are reliable, go where and when you want to go and are fairly priced.
