Sunrise
Taken from the neighbours' decking.
The powers that be decided that instead of having 2 cleaners working from 17:00 to 19:00 we now have to have our two cleaners doing the usual cleaning from 17:00 to 19:00 (which they do very well - we must have the cleanest fridge in the land) and one of them working from 09:00 to 17:00 continuously disinfecting all surfaces (they swop working mornings and afternoon).
We are not a big office. There are only have 24 desk, some are hot desks and not used daily, some belong to part timers and are not used daily, some people work from home 1 or 2 days a week and don't use their desks everyday. To keep the cleaners from standing still every time one moves the surface vacated gets wiped with sanitiser wipe, which get thrown away immediately and not used on the next surface.
One can just imagine the impact of all these wipes going into landfill and all the chemicals we are now forced to breathe in.
And all because people cannot wash their hands.
One wonders how effective it is anyway. They only clean as far as they can reach. If a rouge virus managed to reach the ceiling it can happily wait undisturbed for a victim to pass underneath and then fall off. The floors only get washed, thoroughly as always, at the end of the day. How many viruses are having a party on the floor during the day. Soft surfaces and carpets are cleaned in the usual way, not disinfected every hour.
Lamb Stew for tea.
