View Through My Lens...

By boyzee

Oh dear..... :-(

Well I got home to find it snowing heavily (again) and this time, unlike last night, it is settling again, which means I guess the snow day predicted for today will come tomorrow instead! The weather man on the 6 o clock news said it shouldnt be snowing in North Hampshire - I invite him to come and stick his nose out of my front door - as one of Chris Evans' listeners described it - it is 'flumping' down on the premise that it cant 'bucket' or 'belt' snow as it can with rain!!

I am rambling..... My big news is that I have smashed my camera!!!! Whilst taking this photo (on a tripod) I was trying to change the aspect from landscape to portrait and flick the lever on the tripod that I thought did it (I dont use the tripod very often!!), I inadvertently detached the whole camera from the said tripod to watch in dismay (with mouth wide open) it crash to the flagstones below before muttering "f*ck"!!! Luckily the camera body and battery pack seem undamaged.

Alas, the same cannot be said for my very expensive and good quality lens (Nikon 18-200mm VR II). The outer case is cracked, the UV filter is jammed on, the glass is shattered, the hood broken in half and the inner workings are bulging out of the side of the barrel! Luckily I am covered for accidental damage on my home insurance, but the claims line is not open until the morning!!! - BUGGER - {said in a very loud inner monologue voice!!!}
