Tick Box Exercise

Dear O'H dear and Lovely Tea Jenny,

The Boss arranged a useless meeting today to walk through the run book (glorified to-do list) for this weekend so he (can pretend he) knows what’s happening. This was annoying because:

1. It was a meeting
2. We have already had several walk throughs which he hadn’t attended.
3. The run book is very detailed (and therefore irrelevant) for management types
4. I had to do a lot of talking, knowing it was providing zero value

It went as expected (pointless*). The boss asked if there was anything we would like him to take to the implementation manager.

Me: “Coronavirus”

Which brought the meeting to a merciful end!

*although I did take the opportunity to add an action point in The Boss’s Boss’s notebook - “Sack The Boss (as he’s useless).” I hope he waits until after the weekend or there won’t be anyone to do coffee runs
