A jewel in the undergrowth

This morning I went to the gym then this afternoon had a walk on the Old Racecourse.  We were pleased to see a pair of curlew in a nearby field - too far away for a decent photo though.

There was plenty of lichen around but I liked the brightness of this Scarlet Elf Cup fungu, a bit of brightness in the undergrowth.
