Sorry

It is back to close-up (the needles were pushing against the lens here) stuff  - and narrow focus.
The new larch needles are getting ready to burst out of their rather phallic casings. I liked the verdigris look on this cone ….. and the lichen taking over this one.
There were plenty of squirrels rummaging about - probably looking for the nuts which have fallen out of their casings which were still on the twigs next to this years beech leaves wrapped tightly in their casings.

PD didn't arrive until just after noon today when his owners were heading off west for a wedding. So we have him for the weekend.
SWMBO hasn't seen him today as she is in bed not feeling great. I am not sure if it is down to my chest infection, her cold or a change in the weather coming (or a combination).
