A place in time

Favourite veg stall

Sunshine today!

So I took the opportunity to walk down into town.  On the way, I took a suit into the dry cleaner's place at the station, then on up the hill to return four library books, pop into the bank, visit the fruit & vegetable stall (in pic) and finally into M&S to return one top/buy another.

The chap at the veg stall was worried that I might have thought the plantain was actually a banana, but I was quite sure I wanted a plantain and this is the only place I know I can buy them in Guildford.  So, it was a strange little selection - one plantain, one small onion and a bag of mushrooms.  I plan to create something tasty "pour moi" tomorrow using ingredients that Mr A unfortunately cannot tolerate.

I even bought a small paper bag of chocolate brazils from the old fashioned sweet shop in The Friary (measured out from a lovely large glass jar - I should have Blipped that).

In the afternoon, I spent a lovely couple of hours visiting my friend G - we first met at work over 30 years ago and have remained firm friends ever since, even though we don't get to meet up very often.

On the way home, I recklessly popped into Seafare to buy a portion of scampi & chips for one.  But oh...the quantity of chips was far too much and probably quite enough for two - so half of them have been left out for the fox along with half a tin of dogfood.  Hope Mrs Fox enjoys her supper tonight.

I have received several messages & photos from "my boys" sharing their adventures today.

Haven't I had a lovely day?

Thought for the day:
