Ring in the hols

Wednesday is bell ringing practice.

During World War Two, the ringing of church bells was forbidden except to warn of invasion. A story in Dorset Life magazine tells of the key to this Church's bell tower being taken into police custody and Distress Signal Ringer being appointed. The Invasion Signal was rung at 7 am one morning in September 1940 - a false alarm.

I'll be having a lie in tomorrow and being thankful for my freedom.

We made it through the snow. My goodness, Derbyshire to Dorset was all white. Commenting may be a bit tough, I'll see how I do. x
