Alhambra Palace
We spent the morning in the town of Granada having a look at some of the sights including the impressive cathedral.
In the afternoon we took a bus up the hill to the huge Alhambra Palace site - the 2nd most popular tourist destination in Spain. Thankfully it wasn’t too busy today. We had booked a guided tour with a group of about 20 which was excellent value and ensured we saw all the important sites in the 3 hour tour. The Palace was originally built by the Moors and the highlight of the tour was probably the Palacio Nazaries, the palace of the kings of Granada with very intricate wall and ceiling carving and beautifully laid out fountains and water features. The blip is the summer garden while the whole site gives wonderful views over Granada. An unforgettable visit.
