Survived

World Book Day, that is, with thirty four-year olds dressed in costumes, on what has been one of the wettest days. Wet days mean no outside playtimes, so given we were all cooped up together like battery hens, it was a wonder it turned out so well! I planned to dress up, but I don't have anything and I don't really like it. What I do bring to the party is to be able to be the champion of those that don't like it, and I get to do my "not everybody likes dressing up, darling, and that's ok" speech. I quite enjoyed reading to the Year One class too.

College tonight, and Looby-Doo popped round at 5:30pm, just as I was leaving. She's got a new potty, and apparently spent quite a bit of time pretending to use it!

It was a really good session tonight. We're doing attachment theory, which I already knew a lot about, but it's pricked a few things within me, so it has the potential to be a bit of an emotive subject. Although the first part of the session ended up in a bit of a debate between the two most vocal members of our group, I did manage to contribute the things that I wanted to, which feels great. I told a school story, and then added something else about sand tray therapy. I came home buzzing, and even more so when I got a great comment on my work from my tutor, saying that she had faith in me.

It meant a lot. I've just applied to carry on next year, although this process is a lot more formal, requiring an interview as there's about six billion of us wanting one of the 24 spaces.....

I can't worry about that right now. All I can do is make sure that I'm doing the best that I can each week.
