David v Goliath

Today I thought I'd compare visually the Olympus 9mm Body Cap Lens (BCL) against the Olympus 7 - 14mm PRO lens. 

The first thing to notice is the size. 

The BCL has a fixed f8 whilst the PRO is f2.8. Both have a starting focus distance of 0.2m. I think the other major factor is the BCL weighs in at 37g. The PRO is a healthy 584g...

Tomorrow, if the weather is kinder than today, I will do comparison images using both lenses. I will set the PRO at f8 and 9mm to make it a fair test. I don't expect too much from the BCL but for pound (£) for pound (lb), I think it will hold its own.
