Morning Light

To keep a roof over my head I have to work every single day, long hours. I cannot take a day off and have not had a whole day off in almost 11 years. It is very hard sometimes and resentment creeps in but I need to make small pieces of me time happen. This morning I did that. I sat outside on the balcony before doing any work at all and I sat there in my coat and scarf with a wool blanket over my lap and legs and drank coffee. Then they came in bunches and in pairs and flocks and in arcs and in lone sightings too. I heard the honks of Canadian Geese and of Trumpeter Swans, I saw ducks and I also saw my first Robin of the year. Well over 500 to count altogether. It was exhilarating and wonderful!
