Mallards

Today’s picture is of two of the many Mallards that can be seen on our natural pond at the bottom of the orchard. These two were by the back door, waiting for food, accompanied by another male, which this male keeps chasing away.
 
I have included, as an extra, a not very good picture of a Coot. We used to have several visiting, with their young, but did not see them last year. I took several pictures and this was the best of a bad lot, but it needed to blipped to record that it was actually here.
 
A morning spent catching up with and printing some paperwork. The afternoon will be taken up with craftwork.
