Courting....

The Lapwings have arrived at the nest site and this morning watched the male displaying watched by his partner. The extra is him, wings raised, rump on show and crest erect.
It was a beautiful morning, a red sunrise after an overnight frost. It must have gone down to -8C as I found frost flowers!
The Oystercatchers were also paired and displaying. Lovely to hear them again.
Then it was Botanical Illustration, when I painted Butterbur, followed by Book Group where we discussed 'The hidden life of trees' by Peter Wohlleben. Both sessions were enjoyed by all attendees, including me!
