I see no trees

Our one short outing before it rained today. Good to get some fresh air. The local garden of remembrance in the sprawling Brookwood cemetery has added a rock waterfall feature which caused me to spontaneously climb atop it and demonstrate my pioneer pose. I think I carry it off quite well. 

TSM worked all morning despite theoretically being on leave. I arranged a dishwasher repair (the man who came out found a kidney bean and a piece of glass lodged in the pump), paid bills, did paperwork. 

We had a pleasant half hour in front of a log fire in a nearby pub, grabbed some essentials in Sainsbury’s, then came home and hung a few pictures in the revitalised small bedroom. 

The global economy has crashed on the back of a flu virus. Not a lot of keeping calm or carrying on either here or abroad. For someone reason the words from a song keep going through my head: "it’s the end of the world as we know it / and I feel fine ..."
