Shape... This is the end...
In Mill is a part of the Peel-Raamstelling is restored. The railway leaves traces of devastation seen, caused by the derailment of the armored train in May 1940...
During the German advance on May 10, 1940 a German train rumbled through the Peel Raamstelling at Mill. The Dutch army was surprised by this raid and the railroad had not been blocked by the so-called asparagus. The Germans could freely drive. However, after reaching the station Zeeland the commander decided to drive back because radio contact with headquarters was broken. This allowed Dutch army still intervene. The asparagus worked and made sure that the German train derailed... I will photograph them another day...
