A trip to the shops in Kilsyth in the morning (no panic buying involved!) provided me with an opportunity afterwards to have a short walk from Auchinstarry, around Nethercroy and then back along the Forth and Clyde Canal to the car park.

The area once had coal and ironstone mines and the ruins of one of the latter forms my main Blip for today. On my return route along the Canal towpath I saw this kayak (extra photo) looking as if it was making heavy weather of the strong-ish headwinds, although I don't think those on board were unduly perturbed and were perhaps just taking it easy.
