Lent 2020 day 13

’He has filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills – to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze.’ (Exodus 35:31-32)

Rev. Virginia Luckett writes:

“Framed in my bedroom there is a precious picture. It’s a drawing of ‘mum and dad’ done by our daughter when she was a toddler. In her babyish hand, when she could barely hold a pencil, somehow she captured so much of what we were like. My husband’s moustache and glasses, my spiky hair and love of striped jumpers leap from the frame in their freshness.

And the truth is, our creator God made us to create. And I thank God he has invested all people around the world with his creativity and the joy of being co-creators with him. With so much beauty in our world, there is much to inspire us.

So next time, why not have a go? Draw a picture. Write a poem. Cook a delicious meal. Make something new. And I pray that our Lord Jesus will fill you with his creativity!”
