A place in time

Change of plan

Well, the original plan was to go and get Mum, then bring her here for lunch so she could get out "for a blow" in the car.  But she got a bit worried about leaving her flat when it was windy and potentially raining (again)...plus the worry of negotiating the steps into our house.  So, in the end I took everything over to her flat and cooked Sunday lunch there instead.  Plus Danish pastries for elevenses and a Victoria sponge for afternoon tea.

Then, since I was 'sort of' half way to Ted's house, I drove over there afterwards to check all was OK in his absence.

Finally, home for a light tea then a glass of homemade apple wine and an episode of Deadwood.

Thought for the day:

"Rats avoid harming others, found Dutch scientists who trained them to get treats by pressing a lever.  They went without food after the system was tweaked so a nearby rodent had an unpleasant shock when the lever was pressed."  (Metro newspaper)

[Poor rats, eh?  Animal testing is wrong on every level, in my mind.  And they call that sort of testing necessary?]
