Man with a hat
When you left college, what did you find yourself doing?
Once again my aunt helped. She was an editor with the American Ceramic Society. They published three periodicals and I worked on them: I did routine editorial work and finally got to the point where I did some of the typography. I worked there from 1934 until they fired me in 1936. Then I tried some freelance designing and a little commercial photography, but I messed up all of it. I'm gratified today by reports that many people who eventually amount to something are commercially inept!
