Veiling the Vines.....

The sugar or brix is rising in the grapes as the time for harvest draws near. The birds, of course, know the grapes are getting juicier and ripe for pecking. So all around Marlborough nets are going on many of the vines. Here this morning I spotted a group of vineyard workers using special machinery to completely cover each individual row. A small bird is flying overhead... checking out the barriers to future feasts.
