Birthday Boy!

My nephew turned 10, today. I still remember his father's face, when I pushed the hospital room door: my grumpy, rough looking older brother, held him. He had been holding him for most of his first hours: my nephew got hold of his finger, and wouldn't let it go! And my brother was completely and utterly in love with his baby boy, it was so evident!

This year, Nicolas decided to let his hair grow a bit. I knew that. But when I walked in and saw him... he couldn't look more like my brother when he was a kid! It was... appeasing to see it. There's so much that Nicolas has forgotten already, and yet there's so much of his father in him. (this is part 2 of the christmas gift, by the way: another part of the lego train).
