The Barracks

This morning a few of us from the Community Council visited the refurbished Barracks Conference Centre. The building was built in the 1860s, originally as a military ordnance depot and then a depot for the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. This is how things were

It has been beautifully restored for the Robertson Trust and is now known as Stirling's Charity Hub. The conference centre occupies the largest building and in others are third sector organisations from big national ones to much more local groups.

My blip is the reception area from the atrium. The extra is one of the windows looking out on the area which will be planted in the spring.

As well as being shown round this impressive space we were treated to a substantial elevenses. What a super facility to have within our Community Council area.

It's yoga tonight. I missed last week and I feel some stretches are required. I could do it at home of course but somehow that doesn't happen. After that a quick meeting about our community defibrillators. No four year old sleepover tonight. I'm pretty sure the bug has gone but no point in needlessly exposing wee ones to it.
