The Waterville Plateau

I took my parents, who are visiting from Los Angeles, on a Sunday afternoon drive. We drove the Waterville Plateau. The Plateau is high above the Columbia River above the "breaks" which consists of a rugged canyons leading to the river. One can feel the pioneer spirit on the Plateau. Vast skies, vast wheat fields and then the little stands that man has made: a small church, a community hall or a grain storage facilty.
