Moss in the Winter
It is now the middle of winter. Edinburgh is a stone city and the palette in January is predominantly grey, brown, taupe, and black, with cloudy blanket skies. The colour that pops out on this kind of day is the green mosses and lichenens that grows in the cracks of the walls and the lee sides of statuary and tree branches. You notice it because there isn't much other colour left to notice in the world at this time of year.
