Japonica

The japonica blossom is coming out.

If everyone in the country hears the news on a particular day and each shopper goes out and buys one extra item , judiciously buying something they might need if stuck at home for a couple of weeks, is that really panic buying? It will clear the shelves in no time because the stores are used to us buying in a predictable way. They don’t keep huge extra stocks because of the ‘ just in time’ concept. Isn’t it just forward planning? Isn’t it what we would expect government departments to do? 
All this is a fascinating study in human behaviour, virology, epidemiology etc. I wonder what the year ahead will be like .
