Sedbergh WI meeting

A mostly wet day again today so I stayed in. This evening we had our monthly WI meeting. This month we had a talk about the links between the Mutiny on the bounty story and Cumbria. This seemed to be that Fletcher Christian was born in Cumbria and ran away to sea at 16. Apparently the film bears no relation to the true story, but that’s no surprise. The talk was reasonably interesting, but sadly about 45 minutes too long. The cakes were scrummy though. What else would you expect from the WI.
