Fantail/Piwakawaka
Just by chance I looked out and saw a very dark fantail flitting among the cabbage trees and native shrubs. It is in extras because it isn't very sharp. I think it is a black fantail but NZ blippers might be able to correct me. The usual coloured fantails were also swooping in and out of the trees. Even though fantails are our most common and widely distributed native bird it is still delightful to see them in the garden.
