Being Bruce

Rachel and I have met in 'Being Bruce' diary slots over the period that our colleague has been away from the office. When Bruce returned to work today, he presented us each with a 'Being Bruce' kit as a thank you for covering his duties. Here we all are in the corridor outside my office, proudly wearing our Bruce beards.

The three of us worked hard today on conference preparation for next Thursday. However, by the end of the day we were beginning to wonder if this might all be in vain. Will we still be able to host the event? Even if we go ahead, will the delegates come? (I've also started reorganising a PhD viva because we now know for certain that the candidate cannot travel from Slovenia to the exam scheduled for the end of the month.)

This evening was fun. Mr Fox is in Edinburgh for a conference so we hosted a wee dinner party for him. Jon, Paddy and Caitlin joined us. We played Catan after the meal. I was thrashed :-(
